We welcome John Fitzpatrick as the new Chairman of The American Ireland Fund.
On January 1st 2014, John Fitzpatrick succeeded Loretta Brennan Glucksman as Chairman of The American Ireland Fund.
Noted Irish entrepreneur and philanthropist, John was elected unanimously by the board of The American Ireland Fund – a philanthropic foundation which raises money from donors abroad to support charities across Ireland.
He will lead The American Ireland Fund to the conclusion of its Promising Ireland Campaign which had an original goal of raising $100 million and has now extended its goal to $200 million. So far the Campaign has benefited over 650 charities across Ireland, North and South, at no cost to the Irish tax payer, general public or the charities themselves.
John is a central figure in the Irish American community running the Fitzpatrick Hotel Group in New York. He was previously named Irish American of the Year and also received an OBE for his work in engendering reconciliation in Northern Ireland. He has been a member of The American Ireland Fund board since 2002 and is one of its most significant donors.
