INI Welcome Northern Ireland Ministers

More than 150 leaders of industry joined Thomas Meagher, Jr. (Managing Director, Grosvenor Capital Management, L.P. and Regional Advisory Board Chair of The American Ireland Fund) in welcoming Northern Ireland’s First Minster Rt. Hon. Peter Robinson, MP, MLA; and deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness,  MP, MLA; as well as U.S. Economic Envoy to Northern Ireland Declan Kelly, to Chicago.

The event co-sponsored by The American Ireland Fund and Invest Northern Ireland gave attendees the opportunity to hear firsthand about the historic cooperation of these two leaders and the work of Envoy Kelly to underpin the peace process by improving economic conditions.

Additionally, Ms. Catherine Brune, Allstate Insurance Company’s SVP and CIO talked about the professional and positive business experience Allstate has had in Northern Ireland and how they continue to expand their operations there.

The American Ireland Fund, since its inception has contributed to the creation of a peaceful society in Northern Ireland and its co-sponsorship of the event with Northern Ireland’s economic development agency, Invest Northern Ireland enabled many Chicago business leaders to learn about the advantages of doing business in Northern Ireland.
